Creating Futures
- Use reliable and valid assessments that test whether students are meeting the demands of our curriculum
- Provide timely data to students, parents and teachers that can be used to support and challenge our young people to improve
Creating Futures at Key Stage 3
At Key Stage 3, students will sit assessments in their subjects during two-week assessment windows. At each Creating Futures reporting period, subject areas will report whether students are meeting expectations in those assessments.
Teachers will also report an Attitude to Learning (ATL grade).
Creating Futures at Key Stage 4

Teachers will also report an Attitude to Learning (ATL grade).
Year 11: In Year 11, we will continue to report GCSE current grades to parents across all four of our Creating Futures reporting periods. Teachers will also report an Attitude to Learning (ATL grade).

Creating Futures: Report Information
Your child will have recently sat assessments across their subject areas. They will be provided with a progress code, which has been calculated compared to students of similar starting points. The starting points for Year 7 have been calculated from their SATs results. Year 8 & 9 starting points have been calculated from baseline assessments sat at the start of Year 7 and/or Year 8.
We expect students to be ‘Independent’ or ‘Engaged’ learners, and we track and recognise students with positive learning behaviours. If your child has a ‘Coasting’ or ‘Unacceptable’ in a subject area you will also see a reason as to why this is e.g., Class Learning, Home Learning or Behaviour. Please click the below link for an explanation of the learning behaviour criteria:
