Admissions Arrangements

Colne Valley High School is a popular school, and attracts more applicants than our 287 places. We are proud to be a truly comprehensive school who cater for everyone and do not select pupils on the basis of aptitude or ability.

Applying for a place at Colne Valley High School

For a Year 7 place at Colne Valley High School, starting in September 2025, parents/carers must apply between 1 September 2024 and 31 October 2024.

The application process starts when students move into Year 6; families will receive information about applying for a secondary school place and open evenings will take place in September/October.

Applications must be submitted online via the Kirklees Parent Portal by 31st October (late applications can reduce chances of obtaining a place). Offers are made on 1st March – parents/carers can log on to the Kirklees Parent Portal from 8:30am to view their offer of a school place and an email offer will be sent during the day to the email address the parent/carer used when submitting their application.

Entry at age 11

Colne Valley High School plan to offer up to 287 places at age 11.  This will be the pupil admission number (PAN) for the academy.
